German Language Bachelor´s Programs:
Maschinenbau (Mechanical Engineering)
Three-year Bachelor of Science Course
Mechanical engineering now plays a part in practically all industrially manufactured everyday products, such as cars, electronic appliances, and tools. Mechanical engineering integrates technologies and turns basic developments into marketable products. Mechanical engineers have a correspondingly wide field of activity, including planning and calculating systems, appliances and machines; choosing and developing materials; designing mechanical equipment that can be produced economically, and planning production systems. Their field of work is being further extended thanks to developments in microsystems technology, mechatronics and microelectronics. Mechanical engineering is not confined to Germany, but is a global activity in which Germany is a leading exporter. Subjects extending beyond the bounds of technology are now important elements of the course. They include business administration, ecological and social issues.
After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, you can continue your studies at the TUHH in:
–> Energietechnik (Energy Systems)
–> Flugzeug-Systemtechnik (Aircraft Systems Engineering)
–> Mediziningenieurwesen (Medical Engineering)
–> Produktentwicklung, Werkstoffe und Produktion (Product Development, Materials and Production)
–> Theoretischer Maschinenbau (Theoretical Mechanical Engineering)
–> Internationales Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen (Industrial Engineering Management)
–> International Production Management
–> Mechatronics
–> Joint European Master in Environmental Studies (JEMES)
–> Joint European Master in Materials Science (EMMS) (Funded under the EU Erasmus Mundus network of excellence program)
(Internationally oriented, predominantly English-medium courses)
(Each a two-year Master of Science course)
