(Bioprocess Engineering)

Two-year Master of Science course

Biotechnology lays the foundations for sustainable production of goods to supply the world’s people with food, medicines and other essential commodities. This requires interdisciplinary application of natural sciences (especially biology and chemistry) and engineering sciences. Biotechnical production processes are used to make many everyday products. Bioengineering processes are used to convert materials in order to recycle and minimize by-products and residues in the interest of sustainable production. There is a requirement for bioprocess engineers with special biotechnological knowledge in order to meet the rising global demand for development and operation of bioengineering processes to produce essential everyday items.

The Master program in Bioprocess Engineering comprises a broad bio(process) engineering course and more in-depth academic training, building directly on the Bachelor course in Bioprocess Engineering.
