(Energy Systems)
Two-year Master of Science course
The Master program in Energy Systems offers academic consolidation for graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or in General Engineering Science (majoring in Energy Systems) and with a Bachelor of Science in Energy and Environmental Engineering. It presupposes according specialist knowledge of the basic principles of mathematics, natural science and engineering science, which may be verified if necessary. This course focuses mainly on the economically and ecologically expedient delivery of electricity, heat and cold on the basis of conventional and regenerative energy systems. Along with a number of specialized foundation subjects such as numerical flow simulations and classical energy engineering subjects (combustion technology, reciprocating and turbo engines or thermal engineering) the course includes subjects concerned with complex systems, such as system simulation or energy systems and energy management.
Since the energy systems and marine engineering largely overlap as regards the key areas of training and fields of activity in professional practice, students on this Master program may opt to major in marine engineering.
