  • ASIIN program overview

(Product Development, Materials and Production)

Two-year Master of Science course

The consecutive Master program in Product Development, Materials and Production builds on the Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering. It presupposes corresponding in-depth knowledge of basic mathematical, natural science and engineering principles, which may if necessary be verified. The central focus in this discipline is on acquiring knowledge and skills to develop, design and produce mechanically engineered products. This includes product planning, systematic and methodical development of solution concepts, conceptual and design engineering of products paying special attention to component load, choice of materials, and cost factors, through to deriving and preparing production documentation, implementation by production departments, and practical product launch.

To meet this wide-ranging specification, Product Development, Materials Science and Production are offered as majors on this Master program. As a result of the extensive range of compulsory elective subjects offered, the borders between the different majors are fluid. Students can adapt their special fields of study very flexibly to suit their personal abilities and gear their studies very individually within the set framework.
