2. Information About Examinations for Which You Have Registered
This function provides you with an overview of all examinations for which you are registered during the current semester’s examination period. This function is available during and after the examination registration period until the end of the admissions procedure for the semester in question.

3. Examination Admissions
This function informs you of the examinations you are entitled to take during the current semester’s examination period. This function will continue to be available to you after the admissions procedure has been completed.

4. Academic Records
Here you can see all your passed and not passed exams and all passed study certificate.
The online-function "Academic Records" is always available. You can print the current exams extract at any time and use it for example for course guidance, applications or BAföG-affairs.

Please notice, that

  • you still get a transcript of academic record at the end of the examination office. This is the official record.
  • you can see accepted withdrawals only in the function "Examination Admission".

Unfortunately, Functions 1 and 2 are only accessible and can only be used if you are studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and began your studies at the TUHH in the Winter Semester 2007/2008 or later. Please note the following special arrangements:

  • Due to the many special and equivalence provisions, Functions 1 and 2 are not available for Bachelor’s students of Information Technology.
  • Students on international Master’s programs who began their studies at the TUHH before the Winter Semester 2007/2008 can use Functions 1 and 2.

The following students do not have access to Functions 1 and 2:

  • All Diplom students due to the many special and equivalence provisions in connection with the transition to the Bachelor’s and Master’s system.
  • All exchange students due to their individual subject and examination plans.

Students who are unable to register for examinations online must register, as in the past, at the TUHH’s Central Examinations Office.

Functions 3 and 4 are available to all students.

Functions 2, 3 and 4 show the examination semester. Please note that this is not the same as the regular semester. The examination semester for the summer semester runs from about the beginning of June until the end of November and the examination semester for the winter semester runs from the beginning of December until the end of May. The exact dates depend on the beginning and end of the examination period.

In the “Prüfungsanmeldung” (Registering for Examinations) function you must read and accept important information before you can make use of the function. We would like to notify you of this information in advance as follows:

Information about the “Prüfungsanmeldung” (Registering for Examinations) online function

Registering for Examinations

Important Registration Information: Please Read Carefully and Confirm!
(Sections/paragraphs mentioned refer to the General Provisions of the Course and Examination Regulations for Bachelor’s and Master’s Programs at the Hamburg University of Technology (ASPO) dated April 29, 2009 and apply in the same way to the ASPO dated June 25, 2008.)

You use the “Prüfungsanmeldung” (Registering for Examinations) function to register for your examinations during the registration period.

The registration period for the _____ Semester 20__/20__ runs from 00.00.0000 until 00.00.0000. In contrast to the opening hours of the Central Examinations Office, the online function is available around the clock during this period.

You can register online for all examinations (P1, P2, MP and TP as per degree program, but not for study certificates [Studiennachweise]!) relating to your current program and, if appropriate, for any previous course of study or specialization as long as you have not forfeited your entitlement to be examined or are on sabbatical leave (if you are on sabbatical, you can still register, but only to re-sit examinations). Registration for any other examinations, such as in accordance with Section 11 (6), is only possible via the Central Examinations Office.

Registering for project and final examinations is only possible via the Central Examinations Office and is irrespective of registration period.

Using this function you can also cancel any registrations you have made during the registration period. You cannot, however, cancel compulsory examinations as defined in Section 3 (5) or examinations for which you are registered automatically in accordance with Section 18 (2) 2. Withdrawing from examinations in accordance with Section 4 (3) once the registration period is over is only possible via the Examinations Office.

According to Section 22 (1) 2 the choice and specification of specialized and supplementary modules in the compulsory elective subject area are made when registering for examinations. If when registering you over-fulfill the number of electives, they will as a matter of principle be allocated to the compulsory elective subject areas by examination date, with the result that in the event of over-fulfillment the examination(s) that you sit last is/are evaluated as additional exams.

Once the registration period is over, the Examinations Office and Examinations Committees will approve your examination admissions. To find out which examinations you have been admitted to sit, use the “Prüfungszulassungen” (Examination Admissions) function. Follow-up work on the registration period takes some time, so this function will not be available immediately after the end of the registration period. As soon as admissions have been granted, we will notify you separately by e-mail. You are required to check in good time by looking at your admission information that the details of your registration or deregistration are correct. If there are any discrepancies, please contact the Examinations Office without delay.

Students of the following subjects must, as described above, choose their subjects and/or specializations at the Examinations Office before the registration period:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Allgemeine Ingenieurwissenschaften
  • Bachelor of Science in General Engineering Science
  • Master of Science in Energy and Environmental Engineering
  • Master of Science in Medical Engineering
  • Master of Science in Product Development, Materials and Production

Students of these degree courses have already been informed separately. If you have not made your choice and it has been booked in, you cannot register online for examinations in this area. Students of all other Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs can select the full range of examinations as per curriculum without being required to make a special choice beforehand.

Further Remarks on the “Prüfungsanmeldung” (Registering for Examinations) Function:

  • Once you have accepted the information and clicked on the “Continue” button, your current study program will show on screen. Open it and your “accounts” will show, such as “Fachmodule des Pflichtbereiches” (Specialized Elective Modules). They too will need to be opened until the individual examinations are listed. If you then click on an examination you will be able to register for it.
  • For compulsory examinations and exams for which you are registered automatically (see above) we have already registered you and you cannot deregister.

If difficulties should arise or something does not appear to make sense, please contact us. For technical problems contact servicedesk@tu-harburg.de and you will be referred to the TUHH’s data center. For problems with the contents of the “Prüfungsverwaltung” (Examination Administration) menu item, please contact the staff of the Central Examinations Office.

Information about examination dates and times continues to be available at: http://intranet.tu-harburg.de/stud/pruefung/.

PS: We are aware that the English language environment is not fully available especially for students of all Diplom courses and of Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs based on older examination regulations and that the German language environment is not available for students of international Master’s programs based on older examination regulations. Unfortunately, we have simply not been able to provide them yet. So please do not notify us of these problems. Thank you.
