How high is the cost of living?
To gain a first impression of how much you will need to live and study in Hamburg, take a look at what the Studentenwerk has to say on the subject.
All students have to pay general tuition fee of 375 € per semester. In addition a semester contribution has to be paid.
The costs for living in Hamburg are rather high. You should count a minimum of 500 € per month including accommodation, health insurance and personal expenses. The costs for study material in the engineering field can be an additional 250 € per semester. Please keep in mind that the social and the tuition fees have to be paid in addition in one sum at the beginning of each semester.
