Funding & Scholarships for International Students

Scholarships, grants and loans for international students are available to help you fund your studies in Germany. Please note that applications for some of this funding must be made before you start studying here. Documents must be submitted in full and in time if your application is to be successful. So remember to make counseling and appraisal appointments in good time.
In addition to the funding and scholarship opportunities listed below, you can also apply for a scholarship to a variety of foundations in Germany.

Scholarships

The following scholarships are available for international students at the TUHH:

Scholarship for Student Tutors (Betreuungsstipendium)

Applicants considered	International students of TUHH, → who are willing to work as tutors for other international students such as in introductory or spezialized tutorials or in integration work. → who are in financial need.
Institution	DAAD / Ditze
Scholarship	The scholarship is valid for a maximum of 6 months. It can only be extended in special cases.
Application forms & information	Can be obtained at the International Office during office hours, the Infothek or can be downloaded as PDF-file.
Deadlines	End of April Current deadlines will be posted on notice boards at TUHH and the Intranet/Internet.

Financial Support

Financial Assistance for Final Exams (Studienabschlussbeihilfe)

Applicants considered	International students of TUHH, → who are enrolled in regular courses (to attain BSc or MSc) and → who are due to complete their studies within one year and → who are in financial need. → Master students may only apply for one semester of financial assistance.
Institution	DAAD / Ditze
Financial support	The scholarship is valid for a maximum of 6 months. It can only be extended in special cases. The student's income, i.e. financial support from parents or partners and other sources of financial assistance, including free accommodation of NIT, affect the amount of the scholarship granted.

Assistance for Students in financial difficulties

Applicants considered	International students of TUHH, → who are in financial difficulty and → whose financial difficulty can be proved.

Scholarship for Academic Performance

Applicants considered	International Students TUHH whose academic performance at TUHH is significantly higher than that of their peers.
Institution	Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg
Scholarship	12 month
