General Information
Welcome to the home page of the language programme of the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg. By order of the TUHH the Hamburger Volkshochschule offers courses in the languages English, Chinese, French, Japanese, Russian, Swedish, Spanish and German as a foreign Language.
For the first time we offer a Portuguese course, levek A1.1, in this summer semester.
We review our programme each semester and offer these and further language courses according to the current demand.
In all courses general language skills are taught. The English courses furthermore contain elements in English for technical purposes.
On presentation of a valid semester certificate all courses are free of charge for students of the TUHH and as well for members of the university staff.
Our language courses cover the five competence levels from A1 to C1 following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) developed by the European Council.
At the end of the course the participants sit an exam or accomplish a comparable task.
Performance record
In the last lesson you receive a performance record indicating credit points according to ECTS provided that your attendance has come up to 80 % and you have completed the course successfully with an examination graded according to ECTS.
The accreditation of the courses within your study programme is only granted in a few German Diplom degree courses and to exchange students. Furthermore for students of the international master programmes German courses are accredited in accordance with the particular examination regulations. Within the bachelor and master degree courses an accreditation is not possible.
