Scholarships for Prospective students in AIT;
Their Majesties' Scholarships (Kings scholarship)
Their Majesties, the King and
Queen of Thailand,
graciously provide master's degree scholarships for study of various
specializations at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). These
scholarships cover the tuition and registration fees as well as bursary for
living expenses. All eligible Asian students may apply.
RTG Master's and Doctoral Fellowships
The Royal Thai Government (RTG)
provides fellowships in the form of grants that cover tuition and
registration fees for certain semesters at AIT. RTG Fellowships grants are
offered to qualified applicants from Thailand and Greater Mekong Subregion countries for all fields of study at AIT.
Sida Scholarships for Students from Cambodia, Laos
and Vietnam
in 2004 to 2007
The
Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and the Asian Institute of
Technology (AIT), as part of their longstanding partnership, have entered
into a new cooperation agreement for capacity building for sustainable
development through higher education and training in Cambodia, Lao PDR and Vietnam for the period 2004-2007.
Under the corporation agreement, 136 scholarships will be provided for
master's degree studies at AIT.
The Sida-AIT development cooperation aims to strengthen the capability
of institutions in Cambodia,
Laos and Vietnam to address issues related
to poverty alleviation, environmentally sustainable natural resource
management through higher education and training of relevant personnel. The
programme is a partnership between Sida and AIT to
strengthen national and institutional capabilities in the Sida
programme countries of Cambodia,
Lao PDR and Vietnam.
Through an integrated approach of postgraduate education, training, research,
outreach activities and networking, the Programme aims to supplement the
Swedish development goal in the region.
SIDA Scholarship in 2004-2007
During the years 2004-2007, 136
scholarships will be offered to students from Cambodia,
Lao PDR and Vietnam
for master's degree study at AIT. Increased emphasis will be given to the
nationals of Cambodia
and Lao PDR while the offerings are made. The scholarships will be offered in
the regular or flexible master's degree programs in the areas of natural
resources management, environment including urban planning, urban
infrastructure, waste management, energy with focus
on electric power system management and alternative energy, and executive-MBA
(human resources management). Six scholarships will be reserved annually for
the staff of the Mekong River Commission (MRC).
