Academic Calendar

The academic year starts on the 1st October and is divided into a winter term (until 31st March) and a summer term (1st April until 30th September). In the winter term, lectures usually start on the third Monday of October and end on the first Friday of February with a two week Christmas vacation in December. In the summer term, lectures start on the first Monday of April and end on the third Friday of July with a one week Pentecost vacation.

Deadlines

Deadline of application: The deadline of application for Bachelor's degree courses and Master's degree courses (language of instruction German) expires on 15th July (winter semester). The deadline of application for Master's degree courses (language of instruction English) expires on 31st May (winter semester).
Enrolment:

Enrolment into the first semester of Bachelor Programmes is possible only for the winter semester because of the academic year at TUHH!

The deadline of enrolment expires on 15th March (summer semester) or on 1st September (winter semester) respectively.

Change of degree course: For a change of your degree course within TUHH please contact the students registration office (“Studierendensekretariat”). (Please observe § 27 of the General Study Regulations.)
Renewal of enrolment: The renewal of enrolment consists of the transfer of the semester contribution and the tuition fee, which must be received by 15th March (summer semester) or 15th September (winter semester). Please make sure to use the transfer form provided by TUHH. Fees received after this deadline will be considered as late renewals, for which an administrative fee of € 30,- must be charged.
Sabbatical Semester: If you whish to take an official leave from your studies at TUHH, please submit the relevant application before the transfer of the semester fee to the students registration office (“Studierendensekretariat”). According to the Enrolment Regulations, a maximum of 2 leave semesters may be taken during the whole study period (1 semester during Bachelor studies and 1 during Master studies). The semester fee must be paid for sabbatical semesters, too.
Guest student: Applications for guest student status will be accepted up to four weeks after the start of the lecture period (please use the form provided by students registration office (“Studierendensekretariat”). For the guest student identity card a fee of € 102,25 must be paid. Particular categories of persons may apply for a fee reduction. Deregistration: If you do not want to continue your studies at TUHH, please submit an application for exmatriculation to the students registration office (“Studierendensekretariat”).
