Self-organising Ad hoc and Sensor Networks are one of the most exciting future trends in communication networks, also addressed at the Institute of Communication Networks in Harburg. 

Research undertaken cooperatively in TUHH's research cluster SOMSED:

Special areas of interest are:

• multipath routing in sensor and adhoc networks
• opportunistic routing in sensor networks
• self-organised sensor and adhoc networks in general
• application of sensor networks, e.g. in smart buildings,
  vehicular networks, telemedicine, emergency management
