Heterogeneous Networks

Communication Networks and in particular mobile and wireless networks are more and more heterogeneous. Mobile devices have several network interfaces, such as WLAN, UMTS etc. Different network technology is optimized for different purposes.

The selection of the most suitable network technologies, the handover between different networks and the simultaneous use of these networks are research questions addressed at the Institute of Communication Networks.
