Each week a selected topic will be presented by lecturers from TUHH as well as from other universities and from industry. Topics are chosen to reflect current highlights and availability of speakers.

  • Ferroelectrics: Fundamentals of electrodynamics
  • Fabrication of BaTiO3 and PZT: Sintering behavior and microstructure
  • Piezoelectric ceramic actuators and sensors
  • Reliability of ceramic multilayer actuators under combined electrical and mechanical load
  • Ceramic capacitors and varistors, defect chemistry
  • ZrO2: Powder fabrication, sintering, defect chemistry
  • ZrO2: as structural material, toughening mechanisms
  • ZrO2: as electrical material, gas sensor solid fast ion conductor
  • Ceramic combustion chamber and ceramic valve under thermal shock load
  • Failure analyses of ceramic turbine wheels
  • Processing and Applications of SiC Ceramics
  • Processing and Application of Si3N4 Ceramics
  • Fiber Reinforced Ceramics
