Content:

Introduction into Solid State Physics with emphasis on materials aspects. Important basics of Quantum Mechanics and Statistical Mechanics are covered. The single topics are:

  • Diffraction of waves by crystals, reciprocal lattice
  • „Free“ electrons
  • Electron energy bands
  • Lattice vibrations
  • Di-, piezo- and ferroelectrical properties
  • Semi-Conductors
