Maritime Logistics / ISSUS

The overall objective of ISSUS is to provide a complete picture of waterborne transport as part of the whole intermodal chain. This is done by investigating its modules and processes, from ships and terminals to pre- and post-sea transport, storage and distribution.

Competitive waterborne transport of passengers and goods calls for innovative ship design, safe operation, easy transfer from and to other carriers and efficient boarding and loading facilities. Students involved in the research itself or participating in lectures delivered by ISSUS scientific staff gain benefits because the application of advanced technologies bridges the gap between scientific knowledge and industrial applications.

Through a highly motivated and competent team, ISSUS provides research as well as operational solutions and pragmatic trouble-shooting. An efficient global network of scientific and industrial entities provides support wherever requirements go beyond the available capacity of ISSUS.

Transport logistics comprise the most costly element of the supply chain and ISSUS assists the industry to improve continuosly its systems, tools and operational processes.
