Where to find us
The Institute for Fluid Dynamics and Ship Theory (FDS) is located on the 5th floor (5.OG) of building "C".
The C-building (east wing) is home to all institutes of naval architecture of Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) and its main entrance is shared by the building "D" (west wing). It is also known and referred to as the "Schiffbauergebäude" (transl. the Naval Architects' Building) on campus and this information may assist you in asking for directions, when in doubt.

- Bicycle:
A large number of bicycle racks can be found just outside of the C-building directly next to the main entrance. At-grade access to the C-building, which is located on the northern, and thus hillside part of campus, is possible via one of the following routes: Am Schwarzenberg Campus, Niemannstraße or Kasernenstraße. - Public Transport:
The University is easily accessible by public transport. It is located within 10-minute walking distance from the subway stations "Harburg Rathaus" and "Heimfeld" (subway S3 and S31). The closest bus stop is "Kasernenstraße (TU Hamburg)", which can be reached by bus number 142. From this bus stop it takes less than 5 minutes to our office doors. If you are visiting us from outside Hamburg, the nearest railway station is "Harburg Bf.", which is located at a distance of only 2 kilometres from our institute. More information on the federal railway system and tickets can be found here. - Car:
Access Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) using the motorways A1 or A7 and the federal road B 75. Parking near the TUHH campus may be challenging and parking on the grounds of TUHH is subject to charge. Find more information on the prices of parking tickets here. The highest availability of parking spaces is usually found in the underground parking at Eißendorfer Straße at the southern end of the campus (entrance located between Buildings M and N: Eißendorfer Str. 40 and 42).
