Dr. Jae Young Kim is Head and full professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Seoul National University. He received his BS and MS from Seoul National University and PhD from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been a program director of the Graduate Program on Waste-to-Energy supported by Korea Ministry of Environment for six years. His research focuses on the anaerobic digestion of organic wastes, greenhouse gas monitoring from environmental facilities, resource recirculation including WEEE and ELV and so on.
He is a member of Korea National Academy of Engineering, International Solid Waste Association, and International Waste Working Group (IWWG). He plays the role of the associate editors of international journals, Waste Management and Journal of Material Cycles & Waste Management. He is vice presidents of Korean Society of Civil Engineers and Korea Society of Waste Management.
He has advised and contributed to national environmental policy. He was members of national and local committee such as National Environmental Dispute Resolution Commission, Green Growth Commission, and so on. He is currently in the National Environmental Policy Advisory Commission in South Korea.
