Pressemitteilung – TU Hamburg Institut für Lufttransportsysteme neues Mitglied von ECATS

Auf ihrer Vollversammlung am 20. Mai 2023 hat das Netzwerk ECATS (Environmental Compatible Air Transport System) das Institut für Lufttransportsysteme der TU Hamburg als neues Mitglied eingeladen und aufgenommen. ECATS hat sich unter anderem als Ziele gesetzt,

• die Expertise der Mitglieder auf dem Gebiet der Nachhaltigkeits- und Klimawirkungsforschung in der Luftfahrt zu stärken,

• eine Plattform für den Wissensaustausch auf dem Gebiet der Klimawirkungsforschung in der Luftfahrt zu sein,

• die technisch wissenschaftliche und politische Debatte zur Klimawirkung der Luftfahrt zu intensivieren.

Mit der Einladung und Aufnahme anerkennt ECATS die langjährigen und kompetenten Forschungsarbeiten des Instituts im Bereich der Klimawirkungsforschung der Luftfahrt, die in vielen gemeinsamen Projekten entstanden sind.

Press Notice – Hamburg University of Technology Institute of Air Transportation Systems new member of ECATS

During ist general assembly on May 20th 2023 ECATS invited and admitted the Institute of Air Transportation Systems of the Hamburg University of Technology as a new member. The objective of ECATS – as laid down in its [Statutes] – is to promote and support its Members’ joint activities and interests in the field of aviation & environmental impact. Its higher-level aim is to help making aviation sustainable, by:

• Building up, maintaining and extending scientific expertise

• Organising exchange of information in particular about experience and development of related research; e.g., on basis of workshops, reports and publications, education and training, and web-based information

• Fostering the technical, strategic and political debate, for instance to initiate research work where identified to be crucial.

The invitation and admission recognizes the longstanding and highly competent research activities of the institute in the field of sustainable aviation and climate impact mitigation.
