Working as a team, two tutors will lead a group of max. 25 first-semester students. You are tasked with managing the group with a mind to helping people to help themselves, preparing the sessions (both in terms of content and didactics), and making your own study experiences relevant to others.
By undertaking intensive training and through supervision, you will be suitably qualified for the role. Topics include: Group leadership, facilitating discussion, reflecting on your own learning and study behaviour, organising and planning tutorials, training and reflecting on your own group leadership and discussion skills.
Why become a tutor?
In addition to receiving an appropriate salary – €338.60 gross per month from 01/10/23 to 31/01/24 at 2.5 semester periods (SWS) per week (equivalent to approx. 6 hrs/week) – acting as a tutor provides excellent training for gaining group leadership, facilitation and presentation experience, acquiring knowledge and experience of communication and group processes and, among other things, gaining clarity about your personal study strategies/motivation. Many tutors also report that it is an interesting and pleasant change from their TUHH studies. At the end of the semester, you will receive a certificate to mark your tutorship.
